WHAT IS THIS RESOURCE?

This resource is to help bring a more accessible design approach to your thinking as you work to showcase artwork and host events that have Q+A’s. The usual event goes like this: a lecture or show ends, some folks leave, and then microphones are either lined up or passed around the audience for folks to ask questions. Unfortunately, the majority of the time, this style of Q+A is only accessible to a narrow set of learners. In addition, those holding more powerful positions can cause potential harm when taking up space and there are no guidelines around discussion and moderation. This resource will help you rethink Q+A sessions and provide options to consider when you design your next event. UDL is about designing for the margins and goal oriented thinking. This resource will help you think about ways to improve the educational experience for more members of the public.
